Hospital & Healthcare . . .

Friends of African Children provide healthcare for those who suffer from malaria, dysentery, typhoid fever, and the affects of malnutrition. This is mostly due to the lack of clean water and proper sanitation environment as well as malnutrition.

Food & Nutrition - Healthcare for FAC - Seeking Doctors & VolunteersAt the Nutritional Center, food is provided for children between the ages of 1 and 5. Poor parents bring their children who suffer from malnutrition every morning for a filling meal.

Friends of African Children urgently seek Catholic Doctors and volunteers who would be willing to commit to;

  • 2 weeks
  • 6 months
  • 2 years

of service in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Though Doctors are urgently needed, you need not be a healthcare professional, as you can see the majority of the needs are basic. Volunteers who lack formal training in healthcare can teach and or demonstrate basic hygiene and nutrition:

  • boil water
  • wash hands
  • food choices and
  • food preparation

Africa has the world's highest maternal mortality. HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis and malnutrition undermine the hope and vitality of its people. Local government and some international organizations have made some advancement toward relief with aid, advice, and development assistance—but progress remains slow.

Friends of African Children want to make a contribution to save lives and advance the progress of the African people.

You can make a difference in a child's life. Become a volunteer member, make a donation, or sponsor a child today!
